Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a root vegetable native to the Peruvian Andes and has been cultivated for over 2,000 years. It thrives at altitudes above 3,500 meters and is one of the few plants that can withstand the harsh conditions of the Andes. Traditionally, the Andean people consumed maca as both a food and a medicinal plant. In recent years, maca has gained popularity for its potential effects on libido and vitality.
