Where it comes from
Turmeric is the root of Curcuma longa, a plant from the ginger family grown in India and South-East Asia. Its deep yellow colour comes from the curcuminoids, of which curcumin is the best known. Turmeric has been part of cooking and Ayurveda for thousands of years.
Why a phytosome
Curcumin is fat-soluble and hardly dissolves in water. In Meriva® it is bound to phospholipids, the building blocks of cell membranes, which makes it disperse more easily. Meriva® is the branded curcumin with the most published human studies: more than 35 trials with over 2,000 participants.
How to take it
1 to 2 capsules a day with a glass of water, preferably with a meal: curcumin is fat-soluble.
