L-theanine is an amino acid that naturally occurs almost exclusively in the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis). It's one of the compounds that give tea its characteristic, soft umami flavour. So you take it in whenever you drink tea, but a cup contains only a limited amount, along with caffeine.

Clearly L-theanine is naturally derived from green tea and concentrated to 98% purity, without synthetic additives. Plant-based, virtually caffeine-free and certified halal and kosher.

It's as if the benefits of coffee come together with the taste of hot chocolate to create a delicious, healthy drink. The Original (sweetened) version has a mildly sweet, natural taste. The Unsweetened version contains no sweetener or salt for a pure flavor experience.

Our L-theanine is naturally derived from the leaves of green tea (Camellia sinensis). It isn't a synthetically produced substance, but comes from the same plant as tea.

Our L-theanine has a purity of 98%, measured by HPLC. That's a high, consistent concentration: each capsule contains 100mg of L-theanine. The extract is also non-GMO, non-irradiated and tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological purity.

Only a very small amount: no more than 0.2%. Because the L-theanine is naturally extracted from green tea, a minimal trace of caffeine remains, around 0.2mg per capsule. That's far less than a cup of tea, which typically contains 20–50mg.
